On June 30, 2008, Jacqueline and her family welcomed the birth of their daughter, Caitlin Victoria. They can hardly believe her first birthday is quickly approaching!! On March 31, 2008, CNH officially closed the Camp Hill office. We greatly appreciate the years of service we have been able to provide there and will continue to see referrals and clients at our Lancaster Office. Jacqueline Weaver, M.A. was recently accepted into the Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) Clinical Psychology Program at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She will begin her studies in August of 2008.

Dr. Socha-Gelgot earned the award of ABPP (American Board of Professional Psychology) specialty board certification in Clinical Neuropsychology after successfully completing the oral examination phase in Chicago on October 28, 2006. According to the ABPP, board certification attests to "excellence in meeting the advanced education, training, and professional standing established by the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology (ABCN) and the American Board of Professional Psychology as well as examination by peers in the specialty attesting to the demonstration of practice at the specialty level. Dr. Socha-Gelgot recently celebrated a reunion with her friends and colleagues from Drexel University's Neuropsychology Program. She and her friends were joined by Doug Chute, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology at Drexel (AKA Uncle Doug), one of the original founders of the Drexel neuropsychology program in the early 1980's. Missing from the photo are Lyn Harper-Mozley, Ph.D., and Ed Barnoski, Ph.D., ABPP-CN.

Dr. Socha-Gelgot recently had her article entitled, “What is a Neuropsychologist and Neuropsychological Evaluation?” published in the Central Pennsylvania Chapter's "MS Connection". (view here - pdf) Our office will be serving as sub-investigators in a research study performed by The Cognitive Neurology Division of the Department of Neurology at The Johns Hopkins Medical Institution. The research study will be on learning, memory and cognition in individuals with memory impairments. The primary goal of the study is to gain a better understanding of the role of different brain regions in memory formation and recall. New Services Added: We have recently added two new services to our offerings here at the Center. They are Huntington's Disease Support and ADD Coaching for Adults. A "Scholarly Endeavor"... Michelle Manasseri, M.S. completed her coursework in the Psy.D. Doctoral Psychology Program in Clinical Psychology at La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in May 2008. She plans to apply for her pre-doctoral internship in the fall and will (hopefully!) graduate in May 2010. Michelle began collecting data for her dissertation study at the Center for Neurobehavioral Health in February. Check out the blue brain labeled “Research Participation” link on this website if you are interested in learning more about and possibly even participating in the study! Michelle continues her work at her final practicum training at Clinical Neuropsychology Associates in Center City, Philadelphia. Her work is comprised of administering and scoring neuropsychological test batteries and relaying the data to the neuropsychologists on staff. She receives one hour of supervision weekly which focuses on the interpretation of neuropsychological test data as well as professional development. Michelle will complete her practicum work at this site at the end of May 2008.
Recent Conferences Attended: Michelle Manasseri, M.S. attended Philadelphia Neuropsychology Societys 22nd Annual Spring Colloquium entitled “Neuropsychological Rehabilitation: Putting Theory into Practice” on April 26th, 2008. Lecturers included Keith Cicerone, Ph.D., ABPP-CN, of JFK-Johnson Rehabilitation Institute who offered the Keynote Lecture, “Efficacy of Cognitive Rehabilitation,” as well as Tessa Hart, Ph.D. and John Whyte, M.D., Ph.D. from Moss Rehabilitation Research Institute, University of Pennsylvania. Michelle Manasseri, M.S. attended the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from November 15-18th, 2007 and The Annual GSAPP Cultural Conference entitled "Dialogue on Diversity: Multicultural Issues of Individuals, Families, and Systems" on September 28, 2007 at Rutgers University. The Keynote was "Context and Connection: Helping Clients Transform Their Life Narratives" presented by Monica McGoldrick, LCSW, Ph.D. and Nydia Garcia-Preto, LCSW. Michelle also recently attended a mindfulness training program with her colleagues from La Salle on October 4, 2007 offered at the University.
