Recovery from Traumatic Brain Injuries: A Research Study

Participation in this study is open to survivors of traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) who have been evaluated at the Center for Neurobehavioral Health within the past five years. It is being undertaken to explore the relationships among injury-related factors and various personality factors of TBI survivors and their potential impact on the recovery process.

Participants will be asked to complete study measures in the winter at one of the Center for Neurobehavioral Health offices in Lancaster or Camp Hill. Those willing to participate will be scheduled for a one and one-half hour block of time. Participants will have the option of being entered into a raffle for a $250.00 cash prize at the study's conclusion.

If you are interested in participating in this study, please contact Michelle Manasseri at the Center for Neurobehavioral Health by phone at (717) 392-6061 or email at tbistudy2008@yahoo.com. You will be contacted by phone within two weeks of your call to discuss your potential participation in the study and to have any questions you might have answered. Please keep in mind that contacting Michelle in no way obligates you to participate and that you have the option of withdrawing from the study at any time. We look forward to speaking with you soon.

Our office is currently serving as sub-investigators in a research study performed by The Cognitive Neurology Division of the Department of Neurology at The Johns Hopkins Medical Institution. The research study focuses on learning, memory and cognition in individuals with memory impairments. The primary goal of the study is to gain a better understanding of the role of different brain regions in memory formation and recall.
